RE: The tariff classification of radio remote controls imported with charging stations from South Korea

Dear Mr. Freston:

In your letter dated June 17, 2015, you requested a tariff classification ruling.

The merchandise under consideration is the Control4 radio remote controls and charging stations, models SR260, SR-250, and SR-150. These items consists of radio remote control units imported with their charging stations. The remote controls can remotely control machines from a distance through radio frequency; and the charging stations, using lithium-polymer technology, include a low-profile cradle to keep the radio remote controls ready with a fully charged battery.

The applicable subheading for the radio remote controls with charging stations will be 8526.92.5000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for Radar apparatus, radio navigational aid apparatus and radio remote control apparatus: Other: Radio remote control apparatus: Other. The rate of duty will be 4.9 percent ad valorem.

This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
